Marks can be regarded as an affirmation of being or presence. In my work I explore the relationship between random chance and superimposed structure. I am inspired by the raw, pure, untreated processes of the landscapes and coasts of South Wales. I developed my practise through different drawing media’s on Location and from my photography. As part of my research I have experimented with linear framing devices, the structure of text and format of a book, where marks are organized as indices of events. I have used my experiences of the landscape and a wide variety of materials to stimulate my mark-making practice.
